POST AND BEAM MANOR

The homeowners, a young family, were drawn to the character and craftsmanship of their post and beam home but found the existing layout limiting for everyday life. The kitchen and dining room felt small and closed off, preventing the spaces from functioning as a true gathering place. While the architectural details were beautiful, the finishes and flow needed thoughtful reworking to better support a modern family lifestyle.

The renovation focused on opening the heart of the home to create a seamless kitchen, dining, and bar area designed for connection and ease. A wall was removed to improve sightlines and flow, while a fully reimagined kitchen became the centerpiece of the space, anchored by a custom copper range hood. Throughout the home, the original beams were sanded and refinished to soften their tone, all rooms were repainted to create cohesion, and shiplap ceilings were added to enhance warmth and texture. The result is a home that honors its architectural roots while feeling open, inviting, and thoughtfully tailored to family life.
